The finish it needed came a week late for the Woodstock boys cross country team.
Last week, a 1-2-3 finish against Norwich Free Academy would have beaten the Wildcats in a dual meet and gave the Centaurs a little cushion entering Thursday's Eastern Connecticut Conference championship at the Norwich Golf Course.
NFA senior Vos Hunter spoiled that party when he broke up the Woodstock trio of Holland Rajaniemi, Jeremy Wildgoose and Carl Underwood.
No one could accomplish that on Thursday. But this wasn't a dual meet, and the Wildcats placed seven in the top 19 to score a 52-70 win over Woodstock and earn their second consecutive conference and ECC Large title.
