EASTERN CONNECTICUT CONFERENCE LAUNCHES MARKETING AND SPONSORSHIP INITIATIVE Exciting New Program to Generate Much Needed Funding for Athletic and Educational Programs
Norwich, Connecticut: At a press conference held today at Norwich Free Academy, representatives of the Eastern Connecticut Conference (ECC) announced an innovative plan to generate funding for high school athletic competitions, leadership programs and other educational initiatives. Additionally, the conference's new web site which includes interactive modules for students, www.ECCToday.org , was unveiled and launched on the World Wide Web. Visitors to the site will be able to find tournament results, view action photography, vote for their favorite schools and sign up for a monthly e-newsletter.
Since its beginning in 1934 as a six school, five sport conference, the ECC has grown to include 18 schools overseeing 23 sport programs. The conference is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of the top administrator of each member school, including Bacon Academy, East Lyme High School, Fitch High School, Griswold High School, Killingly High School, Ledyard High School, Lyman Memorial High School, Montville High School, New London High School, Norwich Free Academy, Plainfield High School, St. Bernard School, Stonington High School, Tourtellotte High School, Waterford High School, Wheeler High School, Windham High School and Woodstock Academy.
The new ECC program has been made possible by the following generous sponsors: The Connecticut National Guard, LaFrancois Marketing Consultants, Suisman Shapiro Attorneys at Law, Norwich Orthopedic Group, Jewett City Savings Bank, Gerardi Insurance Services, Sportees, International Association of Approved Basketball Officials Board #8, ECRC Physical Therapy, Chase Smith Photography, D&Z Soda and the Dream Bat Company. Sponsors of the ECC have donated monetary contributions as well as products and services to enhance student experiences, pay tournament officials, purchase awards and fund future leadership programs. A public service television campaign featuring photographs of current ECC athletes and superstars who have gone on to play in college and professional sports will recognize major sponsors and begin airing today on local Comcast networks.
